Residential Sewage Ejector Pumps
Gould's PS-115 and 230 Volt, .40 hp single phase cast iron, corrosion-resistant constructed pump with built-in thermal overload protection and automatic reset. It is an oil filled design with Class B insulation. It will pass solids up to 2 in diameter.- All residential plumbing systems use gravity to bring water into the home and remove waste from the home. If the plumbing fixtures are installed lower than the sewer pipe, they will need a pump to raise the waste to the level of the main drain where gravity can take over. The height distance that the waste must be pushed or head, number of plumbing fixtures/ usage amounts, and frequency the fixtures are used goes into the calculations for determining the correct sewage ejector pump for the house. The higher the distance the waste must be pushed the more powerful the pump needs to be. Similarly, these pumps are designed to pump waste and handle spherical solids 2 -3 in diameter. Therefore, great care must be used NOT to flush feminine products, paper towels, personal wipes, or other foreign objects that can expand in water and clog the system.
