Go Green with Environmentally Friendly Cabinetry
The EPA confirms that “Volatile chemicals produce vapors readily; at room temperature and normal atmospheric pressure, vapors escape easily from volatile liquid chemicals. They are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids.” Outside, VOC's lead to global warming and poor air quality. Indoor spaces (where people spend 80% to 90% of their time) may produce an air quality that is five times worse than outdoor spaces. The indoor air quality depends on the level of ventilation, the types of chemicals and building materials installed, and time that has lapsed since installation. In our effort to produce a beautiful and healthy home for you and your family, we suggest the installation of low or minimum VOC cabinetry.
- GREEN SEAL and GREENGUARD are independent certifying organizations that identify and promote products that cause less toxic pollution and waste, conserve resources and habitats, and minimize global warming and ozone depletion.
- Breathe Easy® Cabinets are constructed of non-toxic, environmentally friendly products and meet GreenSeal and Greenguard certifications.
- The solid wood cabinet doors and drawer fronts are built from responsibly harvested and rapidly renewable bamboo, solid woods from managed forests or sustainably designed, and wood veneered MDF board. The pre cat, clear top coat is also waterborne. The stains and water based paints are low VOC and Green Guard or Green VOC and certified. Door styles are available on-line.
- The cabinet boxes are made from 3/4” solid plywood that has been made without formaldehyde in it's binding agents, is moisture resistant, and very durable. Both sides of the plywood are veneered with maple wood and finished with durable low VOC water based lacquer, glues, stains and painted finishes.
