Portofino Countertop Surfaces
Routine Care:
- For a routine cleaning, use Quick Clean with a paper towel or cloth. Make sure you follow up with Plus 10 spray polish to maintain the surfaces color and shine.
Removing Difficult Spills:
- For stubborn or dried spills, use a nonabrasive cleaning pad with a small amount of Quick
Clean or a mild neutral pH soap.
Preventing Staining and Other Damage:- To help prevent staining, you should apply a good commercial penetrating stone sealer to the surface, such as KleerSeal, prior to or immediately following installation.
- Reapply the sealer ever year following to maintain the highest level of stain prevention.
- All spills should be immediately removed and rinsed with water. There is risk of Portofino staining, etching or dulling if it is exposed to certain liquids such as tea, lemon juice, wine, soda, vinegar, hair dye, perfume, after shave, mouthwash, hairspray, acne medicine and select brands of contact lense solutions. To prevent damage to your countertop, it is recommended that you use a coaster under any drinks that are acidic.
- Since prolonged exposure to heat can cause damage you should always use a hot pad or a heat resistant mat under items such as curling irons and straighteners.
